- I liked a Titan weekend event, with titans popping up all over the place..
Titan NPC's could show up in The major Towns exchanging Titan Parts for party items, and perhaps an event Item for having a complete set of Titan parts.. Gambling in the form of /Rock/Paper/Scissors, beating the The Stone/rock Titan at his game.. various titan items (shields, swords, etc) could be special rewards... Titan Minipets.. Titan mask?
- The Kings Treasures weekend:
Droprate for golden items and gems increased; higher golddrops or teamdevider removed. Perhaps the droprate for 'Coin'-items could be increased and an Exchange NPC could exchange the 'Coin'-items (from various continents) for 'Kings gold', from which the NPC could offer party items in exchange. Perhaps gambling in the form of the Coinflipping emote with the King (or envoy) showing up in towns (like Halloween), handing out Kings gold and golden Items (Golden Kings Shield, Kings Etc.).. Perhaps a Mask in the form of a Crown could be handed out for a stack of Kings Gold.
- Campaign Weekends, meaning a certain campaign (lore missions) gets an increase in XP and rewards, this way the focus of a certain weekend is on a certain part of lore, perhaps with a 'Weekend Mode' so HM or NM doesnt matter and new characters can get through most of the missions in a weekend? (might even inspire people to buy a campain they dont allready own)
- Perhaps an Underworld weekend would be nice aswell (tho i reccon the UW farmers might not like an increase in items drops, but they could earn some nice cash in the form of 'guiding' the weekend influx of players).
**In relation with this UW-weekend, perhaps a 'Weekend of the Gods' / Weekend of the Ages... accompanied with a mini expansion (mainly consisting of 3 maps with missions for the currently missing area's for Dwayna, Melandru and Lyssa)

Oooh, could this work for heroes as well? Pick your four favourite boss-like foes, charm'em, and then go and conquer some Hard Mode zones with you and your heroes!
(If they keep their skills, this'd probably be four copies of Hard Mode Shiro from Imperial Sanctum - just kill everything with Meditation of the Reaper.)
More seriously...

This has been done - there was a weekend in which UW and FoW was available and free to enter regardless of favour. Never been repeated, unfortunately.
(Personally, I'd like to see it coupled with being able to invite henchmen, but if not, I'd give it a go with just heroes if I had to...)
On the other hand this...

...is highly unlikely. Linsey's said that she'd like to fill out the goddess realms, but the Live Team simply doesn't have the resources.

Triple XP weekend would be pretty neat, and would almost motivate me to buy a couple slots, make a PvE Dervish and Necromancer. Maybe even a Mesmer as well.
The reason I don't? Titles. The only reason I play these days, is to work on my Ritualist's titles. And when I say work, I mean maybe one HM mission or a single Vanquished area on a given day (because I have other stuff to do). Making a new character... yeah, that'd be fun going through the campaigns again with a new sort of build, but I'd still get that horrible feeling that I'm wasting time (more so than GW is already a waste of time). If I vanquish an area on a character, for example, it still contributes nothing to my "main" character's vanquish track, and that's going slow enough as it is. I'd be more inclined to do it if vanquishing/guardian/etc titles were global.
Basically, I want to play other classes but I get obsessed with that any achievement on another character will be meaningless (more so than GW is already meaningless) due to character-based titles. Necromancer in particular, I haven't played Necromancer in PvE for two years.
Anyways, pointless rambling is pointless, so...
/signed on coming up with new and interesting weekend ideas.

How about more sense-able ones?
Everyone gets a 15% speed boost? lol
Everyone gets a 15% damage reduction? Tonics last twice as long? Ale effects last twice as long? Gold drops that are ID'd get to be worth 2 points instead of one for a day?
Or we could be sarcastic
Tactics affect healing prayers, everyone gets an ecto, trade chat is dismantled permanently, nicholas kills you upon recieving gifts, ever-tonics disapear after one use?
lol
Or a weekend that you can actually exchange useless items (obsidian behemoth jaws, gloom seeds, mursaat tokens, ect.)

Hmm on reread this could also work well with the Campaign events, from monday till friday (or perhaps also include the weekend), a campaign has no NM/HM, but just triple XP, meaning low lvl chars and normal ones can mingle, focus would be on finishing campaigns or trying out new professions and having them go through a campaign...
- though other 'week of w/e' events would give players like Cuilan a chance to not having to miss the so maniest weekend event, just because they last only throughout the weekend...

Playing with PUGs would be counter-productive. I'd play with heroes and henchmen.
For that matter, since I always play Factions, making a new character is fast enough. It's the character-based titles that are mainly holding me back.

Well if its only for a weekend it would let you try out a new character for a change, though true this wont contribute to your titles ... i doubt you would get enough hero's on a new character to do without PuG's though

Easy enough to get to Kaineng on your own from a Factions start, and then you've got a bunch in easy reach - a stopover in Elona will give two monks, a warrior, a dervish, and a ranger; getting to the Eye will give another monk, an elementalist, and a mesmer, while the Olias quest'll give you a necromancer. That's probably more than enough to start with.

Why would that encourage mingling? People who want HM would probably just not play. Triple XP isn't much of an incentive to people whose characters have over a hundred surplus skill points and nothing to spend them on.

-Double Balth Faction Weekend.
Then people wouldnt just go to one arena. Things would be more spread out on a PvP weekend.

Isn't getting the player base to congregate the point, though?

Best idea ever! I'd love to go into HM and charm Glint or a pet Aatxe. Or, I could charm wammos in RA. So many possibilities...

* There are tons of options to turn Skill points into usefull things, depending on what you find 'usefull' ofcourse; Just try and finish a difficult dungeon in HM with Hero's and Henchies in a reasonable time, without con-sets if you disagree , to easy? , then why even bring Henchies or have a team of 8 *

Basically, NM/HM is segregating the player base? ; And appart from an increase in Foe LvL, HM is mostly just more XP ? ... the idear of Campaign weeks or weekends is to get the player base into one campaign and mainly in the lore missions, so more newer players/characters can get it finished and join in on the HM teams. True one could play this with Hero/Hench also, but for my enjoyment i prefer Human teams, with H/H its just Me/Computer vs Computer, then why would i play online ?!?
But if the XP only isnt enough incentive, perhaps droprate increase or double gold should be added.. Its an idear for an event, not Chewout a total event plan, i dont work for Anet or the Lifeteam :P ... so there should be some creative freedom on their side, if only for the fun of taking a player idear and make it into something that can be used in the Game...
** Perhaps we need an 'Even Harder Week(end)' ... teamsize for PvE does not grow beyond 6 players ... Perhaps that would give the incentive you and other players are looking for (and also to spend those Skillpoints) ... since i read alot of comments about 'we dont need PvE to become even easyer' ..

bad idea, and you knew it when you suggested it. There are certain weekends I look forward to, and certain weekends I don't give a crap about. I actually find your suggestions fall into the 'omg please don't kill gw with that crap' category.

F*** that. I want to charm Abaddon in HM. I'd be the master of a GOD!!!!!!!
But seriously, this is not a good idea. It would just mean that the good weekend events (like double faction ones) would take that much longer to come around again. Some of us haven't yet ground out our first title yet, you know.
